Business analysis like an iPad

Start-up B-Bright launches its own software for SMEs.

“Shall we do something together?” That is the question which marked the start of B-Bright over two years ago.

“Shall we do something together?” That is the question which marked the start of B-Bright over two years ago. The software start-up from Pittem, run by three ex-colleagues, now has four employees and wants to reach a turnover of 1 million euros as soon as possible.

“For reporting, there are thousands of packages, but no platform combines operational or financial reports with data from the CRM system or accounting package in a user-friendly way.”

Merijn Demuynck (32), Lode Bogaert (31) and Olivier Seynhaeve (32) were still colleagues at Accent Interim two years ago. Merijn and Olivier grew as software developers, Lode as business and financial analyst. Until it started to itch. “None of us had the goal of starting our own business, but at Accent you are encouraged to take action,” says Lode. B-Bright was born, even though there was no business plan, only the conviction that the three of them had the knowledge to make something of it.

Initially B-Bright provided consultancy and web development, but gradually they found a gap in the market. “For reporting, there are thousands of packages, but no platform combines operational or financial reports with data from the CRM system or accounting package in a user-friendly way.” BrightAnalytics was born. Ease of use and powerful analysis are key. “It’s hard to explain exactly what we do. I like to compare it to an iPad. When you describe it, many people look at it strangely, until they see it and use it. Then everything becomes clear. BrightAnalytics is just the same”, says Merijn.

BrightAnalytics brings insight into data. The software is also constantly expanding. “We are guided by the market. What are the questions and needs of our customers? It’s the basis of our software.” The ambition is to reach the one million mark in turnover as quickly as possible.
